Hate

Hate

A Poem by Meghan.E

-Click-

and the door shuts behind me.

The tears start to trickle

while I remind myself

YOU did this, not me.

You are gone, this time for real.

If you had loved me as you say you had,

why stray?
I did everything correctly for you

and you looked elsewhere for perfection.

Beautiful facade you put on, really.

-SLAM-

I throw away every memory

you and I made together

but one.

The infant sleeps in the next room over

and I loathe you for the pain you caused.

You never loved me, so why did I love you?
Once were you worth my love

nine months later it is here.

But then, you cheated and turned the lock.

-CLINK-

I threw away that key.

I like the onomatopoeia you used in this poem. I like your use of emotion too, really portrays a situation I think we've all been in, how fragile things are once they end. Nicely done.
