Stars Align

The night is clear

and dark,

just as I like it.

Of course, my control

over the night

ceases existence.

 

I take a minute and think

of what I can do

with this beautiful

night.

 

I lay in the grass and

stare

up at the specks we

call stars.

I make formations

wondering the entire time;

 

Where you are?

How you are doing?

Why you left?

If you will ever return?

 

I close my eyes

and dream

of what once was.

 

Knowing now,

just the stars

connect us.
