In the dark

In the dark

A Poem by Melinda F. Shepard

Gray eyes dancing in the dark
Laughing at the pain
tearing at the heart
Smile on through
Darkening night
No loving intent
Upon the lips
White daggers flash
In the light of the paling moon
Brake the lily-white flesh
The crimson dark flows
