Fish

Fish

A Poem by Mellany

I wish I were a fish with a mouth that could drink in the sea.

I wish I were a body of silk so that I could curve with the embers of the incoming tide.

I wish that I could breathe without purpose

that I could move like congregation in prayer

that I could bask in a silence that stretches like fingers.

I wish that I was only for water

then I would swim through her kaki belly and she would whisper,

"I am only for you".

That's a very good, unusual poem and I like it a lot. Such interesting use of words and a nice structure. I look forward to reading more of your works!
