After Death

After Death

A Story by Mellinic

I kissed the surface of the tower. It was stone cold. Here i was bleeding from my feet in desperate succor and this here tower stands like a rectangle stone reaching up to the high heavens. I circled the building for awhile till i found some sort of entrance or change in the surface. Finally finding an entrance, a glass door, which projected a blinding light as if a sun was being held within the receptacle. I pushed the door open with the top of my head and stuck my head in. It looked like a white room. You actually couldn't see any walls, it looked as if the space stretched for hundreds of miles; no surface was visible from within the tower. Half my body was in. I couldn't see the other half of my body as if i was decanting through some kind of portal. I drooped into the tower; it seemed more safe in here than out there. I studied my feet and they were healed! Healed as in like nothing even ever happen!
I was jumping with joy and twirling around, flailing my arms about, screaming with no echo of any kind. Then, i noticed that i couldn't see the portal; everything looked vast, extended from invisible horizon to invisible horizon. I waved my arms, searching, but had no luck.
