As The Stars Do

She watched as twilight

Faded into midnight

gleaming with the eyes and souls of the universe

and dancing with the knowledge that they would appear another day.

But as for us?

We can not guarentee this.

So we must enjoy every waking moment

as the stars do.

The speaker here seems in the first lines to be speaking of someone who transitioned out of this life and now awaits reincarnation. The last lines seem to advise the rest of us to make hay while the sun yet shines. Not bad advice, actually.
