FloodsA Poem by Meek McGeeWere we back to where we were?
She stood on the telephone pole
The only safe place since the Tides rose. I could see her from the roof, Speaking to fish flying through Cars Were we back to where we were? The cars weren't the only silence In the sea. I could feel the currents dying as we Saw the sea rising-- Were we alone, Or were we always this way? A few words drifted my way, Dying as the light died, tugging at Strings Were the material things ever so real? She was asking for a word from me, But I couldn't even feel. My words were broken and hesitating. They couldn't even reach her now. She never stopped reaching out. Did the doves die?
