Searching for an AnswerA Poem by BobbiThis was a true story but turned into a poem.
I saw you in the doorway, and your face seemed to change.
What did you find in the mountains, did your life rearrange?
I remember the way you left and what you said that day.
"I will miss you; I will call you when I get half way."
I would sit up late at night and look at the moon in the sky
Thinking that maybe you were looking too, and that you were close by.
Did you find what you were looking for; did you find something that made you smile?
Only a man searching for something would hike two hundred and thirty miles.
What did you find? A unique flower or a beautiful shaped mountain
Did you find peaks that swayed or maybe a crystal fountain?
I wish I was there to see that with you, but I don’t understand.
I saw you in the door way and your eyes were at a far away land.
What did you find there? Birds that spoke or trees a hundred feet tall
Lakes pure, and beautiful, or waters that fall
I didn’t know what to expect or what to find as well.
When I saw you standing there my heart just fell.
I gave you a hug and felt you so far away.
What happened to you, what happened in those days?
Are we ok, are we the same?
In only three weeks many things can happen, many things can change
He told me what he found. I couldn’t believe my ears
He found himself that he was searching for, for many years.
