The Decision

A conflict between mind and heart,

Blood spilled between memories,

A decision that will be painstakingly made.

A dilemma that resides in your soul,

Pulling and yanking at the strings of your slow- beating heart.

Banging on the cold cell of captivity that is your mind,

Forming a kind of terrible sickness that leaves you bedridden.

The knowledge that what makes you soar to the heights of your heart,

Will bring you crashing back down once again.

The heartbreak of choosing selfishness,

Or causing pain and suffering.

Simplicity or happiness.

Loneliness or fear.

New opportunities,

Or the everspiriling desires of what once brought you joy.

Your mind claiming time heals hurt,

Your heart declaring love always prevails.

Forever a decision inflicted on the world,

But undecided in your heart.
