Don't Look Too Close

Don't Look Too Close

A Poem by Mia Rockwell
"

This is the first decent thing I've written in over a year.

"
I've been beaten, stabbed, tortured at most
But I won't let it wipe the smile from my face
For I know karma works in mysterious ways
And my smile becomes cynical if you get too close

I've loved and I've lost,
Most know that story these days
So I lock up my trust
With secret keys and a maze

If you dare to trespass on territory that's not to be seen
I won't wish you mercy on the demons that intervene.

It's good. I like it. As per usual I want to write when I read your poems. I wonder what could be brought forth when I knock on the maze of your key locked door.
