Don't Look Too CloseA Poem by Mia RockwellThis is the first decent thing I've written in over a year.
I've been beaten, stabbed, tortured at most
But I won't let it wipe the smile from my face For I know karma works in mysterious ways And my smile becomes cynical if you get too close I've loved and I've lost, Most know that story these days So I lock up my trust With secret keys and a maze If you dare to trespass on territory that's not to be seen I won't wish you mercy on the demons that intervene.
