Dark Awakening

Dark Awakening

A Poem by Michael Fernandez

There he was,

Awaken once more,

Mostly dead; a fleeting image " torn,

And yet, was ready to give it all,

He was the final few,

The final few who heard the call,

The destruction of many,

The savior to some,

Brother against Brother,

Locked in battle " For all of time,

Dead together,

Reanimated outside the eye of the storm.

And as he drifted away,

Towards the empty void,

The image of hope and future,

The image of progress and present,

Merged together and faded into one,

The hero, the villain "

Hand in hand; the murderer, the soldier,

To ashes they transform,

The axe, the sword,

The gunpowder, the cannon,

Together; their sins will be undone,

His final words: “Until All Are One.”
