the Pope is twitching
to canonize him

she cried with a tone
of sarcasm that takes
decades to hone.

Mother behave
he's half eaten
by cancer

her daughter cut back

 

well he never volunteered
for diddly-squat
while we were married

the room fell silent

and then that call came.
