The gaze

The gaze

A Poem by williams

The Gaze

I realize now it's all a fake. It feels like stepping on a nail, This cold reality of slow submission" Nothing more than a form of silent oppression.

A cage built just for imagination, A labyrinth woven out of countless lies, Picking me apart, piece by painful piece. And I thought the Devil was the liar,

But the biggest lie of all was that I was happy" Happy thinking that illusion was real. Everything, it seems, comes at a risk, And freedom is a bird without wings.

No wonder we are never truly free: Free from the ones who make us feel Unloved, Unwanted, Invisible.

All I ever wanted was a simple normality, But I'm trapped within the Devil's gaze, Forever falling... And yet, it is comforting.
