sleep and the universe

sleep and the universe

A Poem by Shaun Rudie

Holding sleep at bay,
body fired by sparks
in the mind tied to
security - a dreadful thing
that, takes you physically
into lapse where the mind's
caretaker drifts, a muddled
sleepwalker looking for
a bed
Where is its ending?
With the universe
It all falls into place if
you let it
It is muddled mind that
lets you think you can
hold the universe at bay
