My Heart: An Introduction

My heart has grown little feet,

she likes to stray and never settles,

always packed and ready

to leave when the wind shifts,

“I'll go wherever it goes” she says.

she loves the road,

she wants to drive someplace new

with her stories stuffed in a 1987 Subaru

hatchback,

she wants to change her name,

to something sweet and

and strange

she wants sunlight and warm rain.
