The Dog Days of SummerA Chapter by Krista EversonRandy met a young, beautiful woman named Cindy who was in his poetry class. It was the late summer of 1980; not too hot, not too cold. It was the perfect day to take a stroll along the pier, listen to the birds chirp, sip that cup of green tea and watch the world go by. Randy reflected on the assignment for his poetry class. The prompt was, “If you could be a lobe in the brain, which would you be, and why? Write how this lobe helps you see the outside world, in poetic prose.” Randy was fascinated by this assignment. He decided to choose the temporal lobe, which is responsible for sensory input, auditory perception, language and memory. Randy started writing. © 2016 Krista EversonAuthor's Note
