Chapter Two

A Chapter by Miss_Essence000

The boys stare helplessly out the broken down door, hearing the last screams from their friend as she was carried away in a van. "This is all your fault, you're the one with the magic, you could have done something!” Dagger snapped at Fang, who just glared at him. Now they were staring evilly at each other.

"My spells don't work that away, they have to be used a certain way!" Fang snaps back. Quickly he lets out a snarl, warning Dagger, that he shouldn't blame everything on him, it was his fault too.

"Only if we had some way of finding out where they had taken her to," he adds.

"You’re lucky, they left this behind." Dagger says as he lifts up a motionless vampire. "He should be a wake soon; I had just knocked him out is all." He adds as Fang nods.

The vampire soon a wakes and releases himself from Dagger's grip, letting out a hiss, he goes to head out the broken down door. "Oh, no you don't!" Dagger snaps as he moves in front of the door.

"You're gonna help us find Sophie if you like it or not!" He hisses as he lets out a snarl. The vampire stops in his tracks and he begins to laugh.

"Heh, there is no way in hell, I'm gonna tell you or even help you out, your friend is probably dead by now, or maybe they decided to torture her instead!" he says laughing again. Dagger punches him, but that doesn't make him stop laughing, he only laughs more.

"Shut up!" Fang shouts, as the laughing vampire gets quiet. There is an eerie silence. "You are going to help us, even if I have to make you!" He snaps.

"No, I'll never help you, not in a million years! I would rather kill myself!"

"Then you leave me no choice, I didn't want to use this method, but oh, well."

The eerie silence crawls slowly back on to the three. Fang just looks at the creature standing before him, and then goes into the other room. He then returns with a black leather bound book that had golden pages. He begins to say something in Latin. The vampire soon begins to scream in horror as he grabs his head. "No, no! Make it stop! Make it stop!" He screams. He was doubled over in pain; blood began to seep out from every pore in his body

“I will only stop, when you agree to help us,”

"Fine! Fine! I'll help! I'll help! Just make it stop!" The cowering vampire says as he tries to wave arms.

Fang stops speaking Latin and looks at the vampire before him, still skeptical about what he had said. Dagger backs away and then looks over at him, "What in God's name did you do to him?" he asks.

"A simple spell that is used for torturing,"

"Ok, what ever, don't ever do that on me, or you'll have a death wish coming to you,"

Fang smirks at Dagger's words, "Tell me where they were taking her!" he snaps. "And what is your name?" he adds.

"T-they are taking her to my boss, his name is Damien, they should be in the sewer system by now, in more than an hour, she should be with him, or some where in his lair. My name is Sheath," he says.

"Alright, Sheath, you are going to help us, so lead the way," Dagger says.

Sheath nods and then he laughs. “I guess I can't help you," he says as he pulls out a weapon that was at his side. Cocking it, he puts it to his head. Pulling the trigger, he falls to the floor motionless.

The boys watch the scene in front of them with no emotion on their faces. Fang only shakes his head, "For some reason I knew he was going to do that," he says.

"Damn it all! Great now what do we do, we have no lead!"

"Just calm down, I can help with that,”

“How?”

“You’ll see,” is Fang’s only response as he says another spell.

An image of a sewer system then appears in the air, as quickly as possible Fang memorizes it before it disappears. It then disappears and he only looks at Dagger. “Now we can go,” is all he says.

Dagger nods as Fang heads out the door. "Wait, shouldn't we grab weapons?" he asks. "I mean if we run into any type of trouble," he adds.

Fang nods, "But where are we going to find weapons at this time of the day?" he asks. "It's nearly ten at night," he adds.

"Just leave that to me, c'mon," Dagger says.

Nodding Fang decides to follow him. Dagger leads him down the hallway and then up the steps to the upstairs portion of the house. They soon stop at a door, which Dagger opens. They both step inside. "Wait this is your room, where are we gonna get weapons?" Fang asks.

"You'll see. Just give me a minuet, God," Dagger snaps, walking over to his closet. He puts in a code on a number pad that was on the wall to the right next to the closet door and then takes four or five steps backward. The closet doors move forward and flip open, and then two other compartments flip out of the wall. Weapons of all sizes and make were sitting on shelves. Walking forward, Dagger grabs a double barrel shot gun, four belts of ammunition, and a handgun.

Fang just stands there with his mouth gaping wide open. "How on earth have you been able to hide this from Sophie?" he asks as he walks over to the assorted weapons. Choosing carefully, he picks up a cross bow, with extra arrows and a sword.

Dagger puts in the code again and the closet goes back to normal. "That's why I keep my door locked,”

"Since we have our weapons, let’s go,"

"Fine, just try and keep up with me, and don't even think about leaving me behind, or else,"

Both of them walk out of the room, down the stairs, and on to the desolate street in silence. Fang is in the front, while Dagger is covering the back. “What's wrong? You're way too quiet, it's creeping me out,” Fang says.

"Nothing, if The Enemy is around this area, I don't wanna give us away! I've had military tactic training before you know,"

“I never knew that about you, when was that any way,”

"A few years back, way before I met Sophie, I was in training, so I could lead an army of vampires, but some one had given a Hunter a tip on our location, and you can guess what happened,"

"The path that they took through the sewers should be right about here," Fang states as he points to a manhole cover.

Dagger nods and lifts the cover up with ease. "I don't care who goes first, let's just get this over with," he snaps jumping down into the sewer. He looks up at Fang, waiting for him to climb down. Fang climbs down a little and closes the manhole back up, and then he jumps down almost landing on Dagger.

"Hey! Watch it mutt!"

"Sorry, but you weren't moving fast enough. Let's just get this over with,"

"Who made you the boss?"

"I did since I am leading this operation,"

"I don't think so, I should be the boss, and after all I'm stronger than you,"

"I don't think so; werewolves tend to be leaner and stronger than blood'suckers,"

"Sure, maybe in your point of view, but I'm excluding all the vampires at this point, I'm stronger than both your kind and my own. So I should be the boss,"

"What ever, how about this, there is no boss,"

"Fine, works for me,"

The two walk down the darken tunnel quietly, the only sounds were rats squeaking and running of the dark sewer water. The rats were either running away from them or running around them. It was like a mini version of traffic on the high way, rats going in a different direction and their own way. "Ugh! I wish these rats would stop crawling all over me, they're so annoying," Dagger says as he kicks a few into the water, they began to squeak frantically as they were swept away.

"Ignore them and just keep going. God! Vampires can be so annoying," Fang mutters.

Dagger rolls his eyes and keeps going. They get deeper and deeper into the sewer system. They have traveled for seven hours without stopping. Sound soon began pour through the grates above them, like horns beating and people talking. As soon as they passed these, there was nothing but darkness and the echoing sound of their footsteps. "Hmm... it’s probably about six A.M. Which means we'll have to stop some time and rest," Fang says as he runs right into Dagger.

"What's wrong?" he asks.

"For some odd reason I am now picking up the scent of that group of vampires and it goes that away," Dagger says pointing to another tunnel that leads off the one they were going through.

"And it seems that the path gets a little narrower as we go on," he adds as he walks on again.

Fang nods and then sighs. "You know will have to rest some time," He says trying to make the trip a little less quiet.

"I know, but we can't," Dagger mutters.

Now walking sideways was the only way to walk down the path, it was so narrow now. I don't know how they did it, I mean they could have walked on the ceiling, but how when they have Sophie. Dagger thinks. He was still following the scent of the vampires, since Fang didn't object to the idea. They had been walking what seems like hours.

"The scent ends here,” Dagger says looking up to see another manhole cover.

"Well see where it leads to," Fang says.

Dagger nods and climbs up and out of the manhole. "It leads right out into the middle of nowhere…I mean right out in the middle of the country," he says as Fang climbs out.

They only look at each other once as they begin to walk down the desolate road. Fang looks back and then up at the sky, the sun was just peaking over the trees, but it was being covered with dark snow clouds. "Maybe we should find some where to rest, just for a while, and then we can go on," he says.

Dagger rolls his eyes. "Fine, how about that abandoned barn over there?" he asks.

"That'll do, anyways aren't you just a bit tired?" Fang asks. "I know I am," he mutters. Dagger only shakes his head.

The barn looked as though it had been abandoned for many years, the grass was thick and about chest high. The roof of the barn was decaying and sinking in; some of the shingles had even come off. The wooden walls were filled with holes; some of the boards were even loose. The paint was even faded. The two entered the old building in silence. Fang sat down on a cinder block, while Dagger hung from the ceiling just like a bat.

"So, why do you think they took her?" Dagger asks.

"I have no clue, but I have a feeling it's to lure us out,"

"Yeah, I think so too, other wise why would they do that, does their leader want to make her his bride or something?"

"I hope not, then we would loose Sophie for ever, she would be a vamp,"

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

"It means Sophie would be a vampire, no offense or anything, and then she wouldn't be the same person we knew from before,"

"None taken. Now I see what you’re saying, which makes me wanna save her even more,"

"Let's just rest a while,"

Fang then lays down, leaving Dagger to his thoughts. Now I really wish Fang hadn't suggested that we rest, this is making me go insane! I wanna get this done and over with! Why can't he just see that, oh wait...I forgot he's a stupid flea ridden mutt! He dozes off; the snapping of a twig makes him come back to his senses. He can hear footsteps coming closer and closer. “Fang, Wake up, someone's outside," he says.

Fang sits up quickly and runs outside, then he walks back in. "Calm down, it was only a deer," he says as he lies back down.

Dagger rolls his eyes. I can't believe I was afraid of a damn deer! God, I think I'm gonna drive myself to insanity! He thinks as he dozes off again. Three hours later he a wakes to find, Fang still asleep. He then hears a tree branch snap this time, and footsteps. It's probably a deer or another animal. He thinks. But then he gets a scent of some one.

"Fang, this time someone's out there," he says as Fang jumps up.

"Fine if you think so, I'll go see," Fang says.

Fang goes out the old barn entrance and then re' enters. "Dagger I think you should come out here. It's really important," he says and then runs back out. Dagger raises an eyebrow and follows him he doesn't see anything.

"Fang, I don't see what you're talking ab..." Dagger then stands there, staring. Clear as day, standing there with ripped clothing was Sophie. Dagger's mouth soon hangs open.

"How the'I thought you were captured! How on earth did you escape from them?" he asks.

Fang looks at him. "Ask questions later, she's in shock and is exhausted," he says as he takes her inside the old barn. Dagger only rolls his eyes and follows them.

"She probably saw her chance and ran away,"

"So that means they are looking for her?"

"Yeah, plus she is wounded. I'll take care of her, if you keep guard,"

"What ever, why do I get the hard job?"

It has been over two and half hours, and they still haven't come! I wanna kick their asses! Dagger thinks as he leans against the decaying wall with his arms crossed.

."Well, well, well, what do we have here? The Pariah?" A tall man dressed in black leather says.

"This poor creature won't be that hard to beat and he shouldn't be in our way," he adds.

"You must be Damien...good...I've waited enough time, I'm ready to kick your a*s!" Dagger snaps with a snarl.

The man laughs, "Such a feisty boy...you would be correct, I am Damien... were wasting time! Go get my bride, but first destroy him!" Damien says as dozens of vampires came running at Dagger.

"You think that can stop me? Heh! You don't know me at all; they'll be dead before you can even react,"

Three circle him and then jump on him. Swinging one around, Dagger hits the other three. Causing them to go flying and hitting a tree, instantly spiking them. Hissing and running four vampires attack him, two hold his arms and legs, and while the other two take turns beating on him. "Now you're pissing me off," Dagger snaps as he flips one over his shoulder.

Damien sends more after him. Soon they are all ganging up on him. Before anyone could make a move or even blink, there was the sickly sound of blood gushing everywhere, and the cracking of bone. Dagger stands before Damien, breathing heavily with a huge circle of lifeless, motionless vampire bodies. "I told you, that nothing would stop me," he says. Damien hisses angrily and runs straight at him, fist raised, ready to punch him. Sophie's scream was heard from inside the barn, this distracted Dagger, who wasn't ready for Damien's attack. With a hard thumping sound, Dagger crumpled to the ground, motionless.

Vampires had gotten inside the barn. But they hadn't gone to far before Fang destroyed them with the use of his vampire strength. He sends a vampire flying out the side of the barn, there was already a hole, where he had thrown one before it. Sophie cowers behind Fang; I hope Fang kills them all! How could I trust such a creature like that! Dagger's one of them, I can't...wait! Dagger would never harm me! Stop thinking like that! She thinks. Letting out a scream just as a vampire was about to grab her, when Fang killed it, there was a sickly sound of flesh tearing and bone cracking as Fang tore its arms off.

Soon vampires were swarming in the barn, like bees swarm to a hive. I wish I didn’t have to use this form, but to protect Sophie; I'm willing to use it. Fang thinks as he lets out a snarl. He falls on all fours. Bone begins to creek and snap as he shifts forms. Thick black course hairs begin to sprout all over his body. Fangs push through his gums and claws begin to protrude through his fingertips. Then right before the group’s eyes, a creature built like an athlete and body builder mix, that stands as tall as an NBA star, stood before them.

The group of vampires stop in their tracks, turning they run away. "Cowards! Come back, its just one werewolf, be glad there isn't a pack of them!" Damien snaps as he leaps from one of the support beams. He stands before Fang with a smirk on his face. "I knocked out the Pariah, and that's what's gonna happen to you." he adds.

Heh, I don’t think so! I'll tear you to shreds, before you can even step toward me.

"Oh, I see, I'll take you down with out even touching you!" Damien says reading Fang’s thoughts

How in the world are you going to do that? I should be the one saying that, not you!

"You’ll see" Laughing, Damien pulls out to steel cables.

These cables were attached to rings around his wrists they emitted electricity. He throws them around Fang's neck and waist, and then he pushes a button. This sent 100,000 volts of electricity through Fang's body. I must do something, before my body fails! Fang thinks as he tries to get up, once he did, Damien would just send another volt through his body. Great! My body's failing, I can feel my energy fading away. He thinks as he transforms back, he lies there pulsing with pain.

"And now for my bride," Damien says as he heads toward Sophie.

"Stay away from me! Don't touch me!" Sophie says as Damien grabs her and begins to leave, leaving Fang lying on the ground nearly unconscious.

Fang crawls over to him. "No...Leave... her alone," he says as claws spring out quickly and grab Damien.

Wincing in pain, Damien kicks Fang in the head, Scoops up Sophie and quickly rushes to the entrance of the barn. He smirks. "Finally, I've got you back, you aren't going to run away again, even if I have to make you stay I will," he says. All Sophie could do was scream and beat on him with her fists, which seemed to have no effect on him at all. Back in the barn, Fang tries to get up, but fails.

A few vampires walk up to Damien. "When the werewolf is out, take him prisoner, along with The Pariah, take extra precaution against It," he says as the vampires nod and walk toward Fang.

Not good! Was the last thing he thought and the vampires were the last things he saw, before the whole world around him went dark.
