Song of the Past

A short poem I wrote to set the theme and tone for a story I had planned.

Dreams of an empire,

Greatest on the earth, 

Gaze into the fire,

Gather round the hearth.

Listen to this story,

Hear this ancient rhyme,

Sing of forgotten glory,

And a kingdom lost to time.
