I tasted the decadence…left me reeling

The soft fingertips on my lips

I tasted the idleness…it had no meaning

Yet I had more than my share of sips…

 

The passion…sweet rose with thorns

Compendious, unforgettable taste…

With a distinctive frosting that adorns

The sleepless nights we spend in no haste…

 

The placid lullaby, nectarous as ever

Pouring my heart with fondness…

Making me float in the forever

You painted in this infinite darkness

 

The honey taste of the cozy embraces

Sweetening my hours till dawn…

Don’t need any sounds, any words or phrases

Just on my heart, the soft heaviness of your palm

 

I tasted futility…its acrid aroma…

Nothing like our ballads of goodnight

Candy coated dreams that are always gonna

Haunt my awareness till the moment we reunite…

Ah, this made me melt-- from the cocoa font to the delicious words you used, to your cascading rhymes. I am in love with your rhymes. They flow so naturally and effortlessly. Favourite lines:

You really spoil the reader with the wealth of imagery you put into every bite and always leave us wanting for more too.
"the soft heaviness of your palm" - that 'just knowing they are there' feeling, captured so eloquently.
"ballads of goodnight" - a divine phrase - wow
