Miraculous dancing.

Miraculous dancing.

A Poem by Modern Helot

Every new shadow acts quick to conceal the existing lights
Even the clouds in the sky accidentally darken earth
So how much more must we, more imperfect than the clouds
Cast shadows on the fates of our fellow man
Accidental or no, the resultant outcome is darkness
Without deliberation and consideration we are all doomed to fall
How about that dark eternal pit, the one that's filled with fire?
Does that no longer hover over us? No longer do we fear it
For reason has taught us that angels cannot dance
However they dance on our heads, and in our beds
They dance and drink to our grand misfortune - by design
We cast down the tyrants, and cast away our blinders
And those devilish dancing angels, how mischievous
They vanished and hid themselves from our eyes
Leaving naught but our hearts to guide us instead
For those cunning, cunning devilish beings
Knew that our hearts were blinded and broken
By the dry pursuit of making sense of the miraculous
Which stumble our minds, but pierce our hearts
It is all good and well to stand in the grand ballroom
And declare that dancing does not exist
But my heart is full of songs and rhythms
And my feet, oh my wayward devilish tapping toes
Cannot for the sake of me, keep themselves still
When then are there songs in my heart?
Do I need my head to follow, or can I simply instead
Follow my feet unto the ultimate truth within us?
And find my place dancing with the angels.
