Recipe For Emotion

Recipe For Emotion

A Poem by PoeticFury

I heard my best friend cried today.

Another guy broke her heart.

They made fun of her because of her sexuality.

Does it really matter what her choices are for that matter if she is straight, bi, or gay.

I heard that she cried herself to sleep.

I went over to her she said she is tired of all the bad things happening to her.

She can never win.

She wanted to get her name changed to defeat.

I heard that today she got so mad.

Once again she got in a verbal and physical fight with her uncle and mom.

The only comfort she got was when she went to her dad.

Though she could not calm down.

Her knuckles were bloody from punching the wall.

There was wet spots and blood all over her stuff.

Although her mood was different her sentence did not change.

She just want to get rid of it all.

She is tired of being kicked on the ground.

She asked why can't I be like you?

Why can't I stand tall?

I heard that my friend was happy today.

For the first time in a long time she ran up to me and hugged me when I walked her way.

She said that you know what is next month?

It is my birthday so I want the best gift in the world.

I told her that if I don't remember anything the one thing I cannot forget is the month of May.

She smiled so bright.

Like she vanquished every demon in her life...

Every demon in her heart.

She had one the fight.

Till later that night.

She started the cycle over.

She did not know the difference from wrong.

Had no idea what was going on.

Did not care what she did, or who she did it to.

Her demons came back.

I have to admit that was not right.

She felt so alone.

The first thing she did was call my phone.

I rushed to her side held her tightly as she fell asleep in my lap.

I found myself falling asleep from the rough day I had, but I did not tell her.

As I drifted away as if I were in my own home.

She grabbed tightly to my arm.

As she sat up and began to cry what seems tears of joy.

With anger in her eyes and soul.

I told her that sometime we have single emotions.

Sometime they all come out as once.

As long as we live this will continue to happen.

This is nothing new.

This is something that is so old.

I had no idea if she had a dream or a nightmare.

She got up wiped her face clean and looked in the mirror.

For the first time I saw no emotion out of her just a blank expression.

She took a deep breath.

She told me thank you.

I will always be here for you.

I told her that I will always be here for her.

Seeing that she can have single emotion along with it all at the same time is a recipe of emotion yes, but I call it progression.

I love the free-flowing nature of this piece. Good imagery, and I love the repetition with the first lines. Just be sure to use the spell-checker every once in a while (i.e. "one" being used for "won").

About
Heaven has no fury like a writer with emotion. I love writing more than I love life. Why? Cause writing is my life, and without it I have no life. I enjoy music, and meeting new people. Also like most.. more..
