2 Unhappy people ( trying 2 be happy together)

 

You hate your job

And I hate mine

Dreams have become realties of false hope

Fear and Anger are the rivers that flow between us

Leading to the ocean called despair

Seeking compassion and comfort in each others arms

Only to cry inside silently

Hiding the pain from one another

Pretending all is well in your melancholy and panic filled world

Only to discover my world is just as dismal

I see the tears you cry

Even when we are walking in the rain

It’s the only time you think I won’t notice

So you cry freely

No questions are asked

Two people living paycheck to paycheck

Praying everyday that the rug isn’t pulled out from under us

Love is the only thing we have to hold on to ( and not make payments on)

Hands that sometimes want to let go

And be left alone in our separate existences

I don’t have any money to offer you

To relieve you of your financial burdens

Nor can I carry the weight

That weighs heavy on your shoulders

But I know who can and so do you

I am just a man

Who will always strive for excellence no matter the pitfalls ( and so are you)

A man with only his heart to offer in this time of struggle

I just know if we continue to encourage each other and love each other

One day soon we can both be happy together
