How Democracy Dies

he Bible is made a cheap prop

and mendacity cheapens our soul
Fact is made meaningless by lies
Our Constitution papers the outhouse
Loyalty is brought low by betrayal
The king revels in his Oval throne room
And the “Stars and Stripes” is soiled
The sick and dead fall all around us
But the king commands our children
back into the breach you babes
Back to work you wretched souls
Life is cheap and the price
of business is your life

Back to the world sickening, burning
Accept those Black lives don’t matter
Blue lives matter… All lives matter
But, Black lives die… and die… and die
At the hands of police no peace
Black bodies dying in the streets
Justice dies… and dies… in blue hands
There’s soul crushing Black pain
Peaceful protests are demeaned
The king goes on ignoring why they riot
Death’s sickle is exchanged for a “long gun”
Shackled by hate, hope is drowning
Oppression is weighing us down to death

Democracy is very tender idea. It's can be broken by few changes at law . Few cover up and few bad men when their became leaders. It's happen several times since ancient Greek republic until now. Only what we can do is stay on side who suffer more. Cause one day we will be next at line.
