When lawlessness rules from the top,
greed is virtue and power is for sale,
ceding power to the richest
denying justice to the people…
The cruelty is the point.

If inclusion is a crime
and hate is a virtue,
when empathy is a sin
but ‘owning the libs’ is cool…
The cruelty is the point.

When difference is outlawed
and mercy is offensive…
suffering is your fault
you’re not a billionaire…
The cruelty is the point.

Ripping babies from mother’s arms,
locking them in cages is heroic
blaming the poor and hungry
dividing us against us…
The cruelty is the point.

A world, full of enemies
not good enough to be loved,
burns… burying the forsaken.
ash falls on martyrs’ graves.
The cruelty is the point.

Martyrs doomed by love unbounded
the bravest hearts stilled
by lawless proud destroyers
naming themselves “American patriots”…
The cruelty is the point.

A sad but true story. I reckon that about ten years from now, they will ask why more people didn't stop this from happening. All we can say is that we tried.

I don’t understand this desire to bring back the rule of tyrants and reestablish the third reich. But when the ruler’s bedside reading choice is mein kampf, what else needs to be said?
