Forget

Perhaps it was a dream, she thought. Perhaps if she pinched herself, she would wake up. But she didn't want to wake up. She wanted to stay in this dream world where none of it had ever happened. She was in a world where she never experienced loss. With every passing moment she was remembering less of that loss, her memories fading ever so slowly. Did she want to remember? At this point she could only recall the pain in her chest. The sinking feeling in her stomach. The tears. Was that pain real if she couldn't even remember who or what she was grieving? The minuscule urge to fight the memory loss was overtaken by how light and burden free she felt. She knew she was letting go of something so utterly important but at this point, she just didn't care.

I have been searching through poems and stories to try and get inspiration for my book and this is just an amazing story. I can honestly say that after reading the first few lines that I was hooked and knew I would enjoy reading this. This was very well written and covered a very sensitive topic that was written so nicely that it was beautiful. The question you added into this story of "Did she want to remember?" I loved it, so beautiful and such a deep question that is so relatable at the same time. I loved reading this and can I just say how good your titles are; like yes they are often one worded but just those one words can be exceptionally powerful and draw readers in.
