Fleeting

Dear younger me,

Here is what you should know about happiness. Happiness is fleeting. You will spend your entire life searching for it �" wishing for it on every star. On every birthday candle. With every toss of a coin. You’ll spend so much time wondering, “Why does bad always find me? Why doesn’t anything ever last?” That’s the real secret here �" every moment, every feeling, is fleeting. we all spend our whole lives chasing after happy moments. After a long while of trying to find it for us, I realized something. If everything is fleeting, then all we have is now. And if there is no happiness to be found in the now, just be patient. It’ll cone back around.

Feel everything. Try everything. That’s my advice. The worse the pain you feel, the lower you are, the better it will be when you get to taste happiness again. Don’t shy away from a single emotion. Live fully. If you want to find happiness, then stop being so afraid. You just have to choose to try instead of being scared. And when fear comes, choose courage. You have to do what I never could. You want happiness? Stop being a coward and live.
