See there, on the scaffold of the Capitol Dome

(which only true patriots may claim as their own)

red-hatted citizens, outraged, aggrieved

trashing the place with a brute joie de vivre  

half on a lark, the rest insurrection

dry-humping the thought of a stolen election

seeking redress, simple fairness, solutions

or failing that a few executions

chittered and chattered to dim apprehension 

pretending to play at pretend intervention

fearful and feral, no longer ignorable

Hillary was right: they are simply deplorable.

a very appropriate poem Montag, in light of what is likely coming down the pike for your nation tomorrow night. wish I could say I understand the urges pushing them, but I don't. What originally seemed a simple case of dissatisfaction is more and more devolving into an Alice in Wonderland dystopia, where the MAGAs all seem to want to be the red queen

Well rhymed piece here. I am 75 and never in my life have I witnessed scenes such as those which occurred on Jan. 6th. I hope never to see them again.
