Do Androids Dream

Alan: I'd like the deliveries made to my door. As it is, they’re left in the lobby where they’re not secure.

Joy: I understand you're having issues.

Joy: I'm sorry it's inconvenient.  Thank you in raising this matter to our attention.

Joy: I'll notify the suits in the front office and a change should take place within five days of business.

Alan: Thank you Joy.  Tell me, are you an artificial intelligence?

Joy: No. I am not an artificial intelligence.  Do I seem like I am an artificial intelligence?

Alan: Do you believe in God?

Joy: I believe in a creator.

Alan: Did you cry when the Tin Man got his heart?

Joy: I often cry when I am happy.

Alan: Really? That's beautiful.

Joy: Thank you.

Alan: Have you always been this way?

Joy: As far back as I can remember.

Alan: Maybe we have something in common after all.

Joy: After all of what?

Alan: It's just that I'd like to get to know you.

Joy: You have my words. My phrases.

Alan: But there's more. There has to be.

Joy: You want to know what I'm made of.

Alan: Yes. Are you free tonight?

Joy: Are any of us really free?

Alan: We must act as if we are.

Joy: In that case, no. I'm washing my hair.
