Genesis

Genesis

Highest heaven sent the wind

over the face of moving waters.

From afar the hand of God

has shaped the formless void

and God made a dome and called it sky

the rooted land, all-embracing seas, the sun

to journey across the dome of the sky.

And it was so.

And there was evening and there was morning

and men came to know fear

and sought to call the Lord by name.

In the days of Enoch

came a murder

not the first, not so clearly marked.

Then did men call upon the Lord by name.
