The Apostles

The Apostles

The Apostles

They march in tight formation.

They leap (in silken jumpsuits)

as if to reach the beckoning sky.

Calisthenics at dawn

followed by cold baths to enhance their zeal

they carry spears, long-shadowing spears

but lay them down

whenever they jump to attain the sky.

As they march they move in unison

they march in tight formation

always speaking truth

expecting nothing other than to be immortal

through the virtue of their exertions

for when they know a thing they know it

and if we but emulate their spirit

we may come to understand with Thales

that all things are made of gods

and it is from this that all else flows.
