Sugarplums

Sugarplums

A Poem by Avery Colt

When they were little playing in the schoolyard,

The boys would run around shouting and yelling,

Little girls watching, overtly, covertly.

Later the boys scarcely remembered,

Girls on the other hand a long long time.

Visions of sugarplums etched in their minds.

Later in life when all the men chased girls,

Who ran away looking over their shoulder.

Who was the clever one then c**k robin.
