A Poem by Kady R.
"

This poem isn't based off a true story.

"
I'm lost within the mind.
The area is slowly fading.
As if it is the world that isn't real.
I walk among them.
The mist of people.
It is nothing but a haze.
Touch,
It isn't real.
All that is real are my memories,
My memories of him.
They are slowly becoming my reality my life.

I'm at the park sitting on the bench near a willow tree as it sways.
Saying something in a language I cannot recognize.
Everything, everyone is but a haze and yet this tree sways.
All I can think of is my memories,
Memories of him.
I look at my hand as it slowly fades into existence.
Does anything even matter?
As I put my hand away.
I cannot feel unless I'm with him.

Is this love?
It feels more like possession I cannot enjoy the swaying of a tree.
And yet something is wrong.
I walk around as if I'm mourning .
My heart aches.
My mind is swirling.
I cannot feel.
Unless I'm with him.
This isn't healthy, I wonder.
Either way I wait.
I wait for the day we will never part again.

I wanted to make a poem of getting lost into something and this is what came out of. Almost like going into a rabbit hole type feeling who knows. Hope you enjoy it.

This poem gives me the feel of drifting without an anchor and or course. When one has no course one often ends up where one never intended to be and where one does not wish to be. Nicely written

Very insightful Soren!! It is supposed to be a type of drifting without and anchor as you stated. It.. read more
This poem hints at the toxic nature of an attachment (This isn't healthy, I wonder). It focuses on the conflict between longing and self-awareness.
I peceive WAIT as an intimate exploration of emotional dependence and the disintegration of self in the aftermath of loss or love turned unhealthy.
The poem reeks with emotional Honesty: There's a raw, vulnerable quality in the speaker's voice. The line "I cannot feel unless I'm with him." repeated with slight variations drives home the speaker’s scary level of emotional dependency.

For me, it's is a visceral and emotionally resonant piece that explores themes of grief, obsession, and the blurred line between love and loss.
