How joyful it is to find each string
Placing so carefully to create a delicate ring
Learning the notes one by one
Each finger placement, the song is never done
At first it’s sounds horribly rough
Learning the sounds can be so tough
But there is an end to this joyful play
With each note you learn a different array
Now, here's a poem I can surely relate to, from when back as a lad of nine I'd received a Roy Rogers cardboard guitar with steel piano strings for my birthday. I'd no idea what I was doing, but tightened those strings 'til they plunked brightly, and sang "Home On the Range" until my mom ran me outside for driving her crazy, saying, "Go serenade the dogs 'n cats 'n birds!" … LOL! Next song was "Oh, Suzanna!"
I like how you've formed your Quatrains into Rhyming Couplets, because it makes their rhymes easy to follow, and the simplicity of common words speak in layman's terms even a simple poet like me can grasp the emotions, meanings, and rewards of learning the guitar step-by-step.
Excellent work, Poetess … very much enjoyed!
Thank you ever-so joyfully! ⁓ Richard 🎶

Thank you for sharing your journey with the guitar. It's wonderful to be able to pickup an instrument and stay committed to learning it.
Ahhh this poem reminded me when I was first learning how to play guitar, it made me totally insane for a week. Learning the rhythm is hard at first but then you don't even realize how your hands do this! Such a therapy! Such a good friend guitar itself! A great poem!

Thanks Beren!! You play guitar as well!!??!! No wayy totally cool!! 🤗🤗🤗
This is a lovely and sweet poem. It shows the joy and struggles of learning something new. I must say, I've always found the instrument "guitar" quite interesting and I did want to play it someday in my life.. However, dreams change, and people change. I never got the chance to learn to play the guitar, but I do know how to play the piano. Just a little, not an expert. You've captured the learning journey quiet nicely. Lovely poem, Kady! Loved it.

This is a gentle melodic reminiscence on the pleasure and steadiness involved in learning maybe an instrument, or perhaps life itself. It depicts a juvenile musical journey soft and awkward, yet abundant in understated victories.

I had a few guitars but never the patience...
I have a dear friend who is sponsored by Fender.
She is an amazing guitar player...has played at the Grand Ole Opry with young country singer Tenille Arts.
I always wished I could have been a singer/songwriter....but just couldn't play the instrument.
This poem reminds me of my failed attempts, even though the poem is positive and my experiences were not.

I find jusy air guitar is still learning because mentally you get it down. I do try whenever I'm not playing to do it mentally and it helps me. I'm sorry for your failed attempts. Bravery starts with the attempts and I admire that Jacob🤗🤗🤗. It took me till I was in my 30s to even start playing the guitar I was so afraid but eventually I just started and I'm extremely happy. Thanks for the review Jacob I reallg appreciate it!! 🤗🤗🤗

And it didnt help that I kept googling how long it takes to learn an instrument and most of the answers told me to start when your young. Welp Im not young anymore (I'm gonna be 40 soon woop woop). But one day I said whoo cares I'm gonna learn anyways and I couldn't be happier. Depending on your learning style it doesnt take as long as you think to learn a new piece. So heres to hoping you'll learn one day, it's never too late. 🤗🤗🤗
I used to play guitar all the time. I still pick it up now and then to polish the calluses on my fingers. They say playing an instrument is good for the brain, so play away, I say. :)

I have an acoustic and spanish guitar? But right now I'm loving my spanish guitar (the nylon string one). I'm learning Le Festin from Ratatouille (they have a guitar version of the song). My dad is also teaching me the fret board right now so I'm a complete beginner but loving it so far.
