Gratitude

Gratitude

A Poem by Kady R.
"

The first thing I did when I became single again was head to the beach and enjoy it for the first time alone.

"
The sun rises at the beach
It's rays like a hand stretching out to reach
I sit on the sand
This day was not planned
Salty air fills the area high as the sky
Like birds that fly so high

I'm single and free
Sitting on the sand staring out to sea
I never known such peace alone
Feeling at one without my phone
No one call or text me now
Now that I'm single and at the beach somehow

My hand freely dances into the airs breeze
Waking up without food or without my teas
I'll eat when I come back home, I ponder
While my eyes so freely wonder

The salty air clearing my nose and throat
So I take a deep breath, and felt like I could float
What a wonderful day to be free of it all
With the great expanse I never felt so small
And yet I was so grateful for this life ahead
To continue down the path that many have tread

The path of recovery like the wave back and forth
How it recovers back to its place, no matter if it’s north
The sun is now rising in all its brilliance
Showing me the world turns and its resilience

It's time to head home and continue another day
But how beautiful it was to start the month of May
Being grateful and appreciating the world and its glory
To continue writing another story

Nothing like feeling a load off your back.... single and free to do whatever you desire, unencumbered smell of the ocean, the caress of the soft sand, the ability to breathe in that salty air without any disturbance, except for maybe the rush of the seagull's gawk....a relief never felt before.....pure joy!!!

You are very Welcome!

I get the impression that this offering is the result of getting out of a difficult marriage situation. The tone is full of relief and joy. Enjoy this time while you can, because all situations have their difficulties. Maintaining gratitude, however, is a good way to mitigate them.

Ahhh! This is such a beautiful and hopeful poem. I could picture the visuals and the words are so vivid. Very valuable thoughts. It must be wonderful to be a poet who can fill a scene with such meaningful emotions. It's a poem that truly makes me look at the world differently. I'll read it a few more times and feel the sun rise somewhere inside me. You are awesome!

From your wonderfully metered poem, the above truly shines. Your courage and recovery from dark times is marvellous, your words are gold medals the world could hang about your neck, my friend. No need for any more edits.

Ahhhhh (sigh of content)

Reading your poem felt like stepping barefoot onto warm sand-there's such peace in your imagery, and such courage in embracing solitude as a path of healing.

Your lines like "With the great expanse I never felt so small/And yet I was so grateful for this life ahead" resonate deeply, reminding me how moments of stillness can bring the clearest truths. Your reflection on recovery through nature's rhythm is beautifully done! so gentle, affirming, and unafraid. Thank you for letting us sit beside you on that beach, if only through your words. This piece is quiet reminder to breathe, to feel and to continue writing another story. 💖

Warmly,

Gregoria

😁 no worries I caught on what you meant, and you’re welcome🙏
This poem reminds me how peaceful life would be without phone or technology, just nature, freedom, and quiet thoughts. It captures the joy of being present, the healing power of the sea, and the strength found in starting over. It's a lovely reminder to not rush things in life and just be at the present, enjoy the present, and live the present to the fullest so that you don't have regrets later.
This poem really is beautiful. Just peaceful vibes and truth. Really loved it!
