Trapped

Trapped

A Poem by Kady R.
"

Hope you enjoy!!!

"
Caged….
Bars built, not my own making
Foundations made with sand

Trapped in a world, of another
Dreams of life….
A better place

With no way to fly, how could I leave?
Long in torment
Expected more but never enough
Ridiculed…

And yet, with a life made so temporary
there was…a…choice
To leave
Cage open, broken and sand clinging onto me
There were repercussions to staying
And yet repercussions to leaving

So I waited…
And waited…
And waited….
Till I was ready
To leave strong
Then the door opened
Finally I left my sandy barred cage
And found refuge within the trees
With myself and many like me

There is much symbolism in this one, so we can only guess at the speaker's situation. Suffice it to say that life seems to have been constricted for a long time by the influence of another. The speaker did not fold, however, but waited patiently for the proper time to act. That time came, and now all seems to be well. Patience does pay in the end.

A great allegory that sends its message to others to join in and fly free. Very nicely done
