Note from underneath the door

Happy childhood memories turns into life lessons to learn from.

She shuts herself out
For all the word to see
Closing the door behind her
With respect and love we leave her be
Until minutes
Minutes later
A note slides under the cracks of the door
Hi I love you
It slides back
I love you too
We were just kids and yet
Her refuge was in the room
Door shut
And there I was note in hand to say I love you
Being sisters is the first friend a girl can have
Even now things are the same
As we are older
She disappears and there I am to say I love you
Care show itself in many forms
You have to risk being alone to show you care
Not everyone appreciates its
Not everyone understands
But there she is coming back to say I love you too
Forever a friend
Forever a sister
My note under the cracks of the door
Will forever be remembered as a bridge for
Relationships

“ You have to risk being alone to show you care”
It’s so important thing to say… this poem made me so emotional because you really made me realize that my brother was my first friend ever then just we grow up and changed and life happened… and with the age we realized some family relationships are just forced and we wouldn’t spend time together if we weren’t related, cousin, sibling, niece or whatever it is… its just harsh but true. Also at the beginning this poem reminded me of the animation movie called “Frozen”. There was a scene in the movie where one of the sisters is singing in front of the other sister’s door and telling how she doesn’t she much her around anymore and misses her. Like notes under the door!
Your poems always has a pure reading and i love it. I miss you, i hope all is well and we can talk soon!

A beautiful love filled poem Kady. I am fortunate enough to have two sisters. It reminds me of many fond memories of our younger years. We remain ever close, ever supportive and above all friends as well as sisters. I thoroughly enjoyed this poem.
