Worthless

Feeling pretty love today. Hope you all can relate.

I know this time is temporary
My sorrows will pass
I know that sorrow is natural
In the end it never lasts

I know the stories of the unfortunate
How they were able to overcome
I know that most hit rock bottom
While some lives in slums

I know to practice mindfulness
To remember to stay present
I know to keep hopeful
And my thoughts pleasant

I cannot help but to feel worthless

Oh dear Kady… we all have these worthless feelings, but as you say emotions are transient…. And so is time… and I’m sure in time, these sad feelings shall pass; in my opinion, no one is worthless; we all have positive vibes to contribute to ourselves and to others; it’s just human nature; so to, your feelings shall fade and hope is on the horizon; be well

This piece right here: wow. This really captures the feeling of how the last few weeks have been going for me. Trying to be thankful, staying positive, making space for my emotions--but today I just kinda buckled under my own weight. Life has been rough for a while, and I'm trying to be thankful I have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in. But man.... I've been feeling a little worthless myself lately.

Kady, this is quietly powerful. The repetition of “I know” builds a sense of strength and wisdom, only for that last line to gently undo it all....it’s such a real moment of human contradiction. Sometimes we know what to do, how to think, and still can’t escape the feeling itself. This feels like a sigh caught between hope and honesty. Beautifully written.

Hii James!!! Thank you for your review. Your right, life has too many contradictions. I'm so happy the "I know" statements resonated with you. I'm working on being more present with how I feel no matter how I'm feeling and decided to write something about it. Truth be told we can try our very best and in the end still feel pretty badly about things. I guess its all apart of human nature.
