Chords of Misfortune

Chords of Misfortune

A Poem by Morgan Ryne
"

Alas! I hear the bells of death!

"

Alas! I hear the bells of death,
and with them,
my last breath.
Hark! There is that otherworldly chime,
calling me to the depths!

Amidst the mournful ringing,
The anguished whisper of their awful plight,
urging me to fight
against those ghastly chords of misfortune,
and step back into the light,
Lest I favor living
in an unrelenting night.

I love that you give a little struggle in there, and the tolling of the bells that mean death, the whole idea was great, but not as great in your own words.
