I Could.....

I could travel all around the world

And never escape the image

Of her face in every drop of rain

 

I could crawl into the darkest depths of the world

And never escape

 The echo of her name

 

I could walk into the desert

‘Till my mouth went dry

And never would I find the reason why

 

I could fly into the rising sun

Even Burning up

 Believing that she was the one

 

I could swim to the bottom

 Of the deepest sea

And never find that which is now lost to me

 

I could climb to the tops

Of the highest peaks on earth

Even so……

I still will not find my hearts rebirth

The first two collected sets didn't rhyme and that caught me a little off guard when they started to
But this piece kind of scared me.
For the person.
Like a since of hopelessness and confusion over powered everything.
Like I could look at the most beautiful sunset and still feel a deep stab in my heart that that person wasn't there to share it's beauty with me.

This is indeed a heartwrenching piece ML.

It sometimes seems that a broken heart will
never mend. That we are doomed to this
long, bleak, lonely and painful existence
without that person. But that's just not the truth.
It doesn't help to hear this as it's occuring --
but time really does heal. What speeds it up?
New love.

New love heals almost instantly.
But, we don't all have new love
just dropping by and knocking
at our door! lol

The only thing I can say is -- working on self
love and pushing forward is what we broken
hearted fools have to work with -- so make it
work well. :)

I love the structure of this piece.

I agree...a painful thing to feel so lost and alone. I feel the heaviness in these words. You effectively put forth such a hopeless ache that it seems even the wonders of the world don't have the answer you seek. Truly, the heart's rebirth you seek is an illusive spark that only another soul can light in you. Keep your heart open...the spark may come along someday and you want to be ready for it when it does.
