My MonsterA Poem by Mr. LopezWith a kiss and an embrace She held me fixed within her gaze Evil is attracted by the color Of the light But I feel blind when I am Within her sight My imagination and all my inspiration Intuition is not my health condition There in darkness is where she will hide And my everything was taken for a ride I knocked and she would Let me in That’s where all the trouble Would begin I now know where the wild tide goes I know now where the wild vine grows The rocks are hard and water wet She taught me things I won’t forget The stars that I loved fell From the skies The dreams that I kept would Leave my eyes The longer I sat the closer she came It’s not her fault but only I’m to blame I’m a victim of my very own mass delusion Infected with a chronic case of numb confusion Still I could not make sense Of it all No longer trapped within a bottle she is my monster alcohol
