Between thoughts

We shared time in the most unusual places
Around the table, round with faces
In the park,
And sometimes in the yard where dogs bark.
In between
Laughter, tears fell
In between
Love, hate arose.
And once again, we shared thoughts in the most unusual places.

Hate is such a strong word. I wonder why the love and laughter turned to tears and hate. No happy ever afters here, a reminder that many relationships become fractured with the passing of time. A sad fact, conveyed nicely.
