Failure

Failure

A Poem by JR Darewood

There was a time when I thought I would die fighting
That no trial could bow my head
But life is a moment
and every moment ends
There's no more time to turn the tide
No time to escape this cage
Failure looms before me, a wicked grin beneath its monstrous eyes
I am too tired to stare at it's hideous face
too tired to pretend I don't want to flinch
I bend my knee
I bow my head
and beg to spend my final days in blissful slumber

There are things in life that even the strongest among us must acquiesce to...the good news is we don't always have to stay bowed. It's a strong and emotive poem.
