Wishsong

Wishsong

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

I sang of leaves,of leaves of gold
and leaves of gold they grew
Of wind I sang,a wind there came
and through the branches blew

Like birds of night, to skies I sang
and from the skies fell stars
Into the rain I sang again
to wash away my scars

When winter came I lost my song
and silence was my note
The shadows chased each other down
and sang a song I wrote

The sun found love upon my heart
before my own heart knew
I'd sing until the end of time
the love I have for you

Before the sprout could reach the light
my heart would find a way
To reach your ear that you might hear
what my song has to say

Like echoes into empty halls
where once you sought my soul
The song I sang fell on deaf ears
to never reach it's goal

What if of ships I were to sing?
What ship would come for me?
What ship could bear me ever back
across so wide a sea?

'Wishsong'
Mr. Lopez,
Inner feelings being bore upon the breezes; it felt like a seasonal blessing of the jubilance of the struggle within love's reality. This was like a walk under the stars journaled into the following sunny day and then a walk in the rain, all along wishing that love would come to stay.
Blessings,
Kathy

This is so beautifully written, in a style that evokes memories of yesteryear, of classics written in times were words were valued so much and nary a lol in sight. Heart achingly brilliant emotion captured on a page my friend. Seriously one of the best I have read so far.
