My Shoe

I found it strange that my shoe was gone
Because last time I checked I had it on

It's one of those things that I'd like to keep
But how did I lose it when I was asleep?

I decided to look all over town
For my missing shoe that I'm sure was brown

I walked ten blocks then I walked ten more
I even looked in the grocery store

I walked all day and half the night
I had one left but it was my right

I had a date but now couldn't go
With just one shoe I'm sure she would know

So I gave up and went home instead
And found my shoe underneath my bed

It always is. It's funny because this poem was inspired by actual events. One day I couldn't find my shoe and looked all over the house for it until I found beneath my bead, except I had already looked there. The whole time I was looking I imagined how dumb I would look if I were to walk around town with just one shoe.....and a poem was born. Thanks again for reading.

You know...it's funny that you should say that because when I first wrote it I kind of thought the same thing, about the kids book that is.every now and then I'll get in these goofy moods and something silly fun like this comes spilling out of my head.thank you for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
