Hard lessons learned

The things that I've learned most recent in life
Are that friendship and trust are both lies
Hard work and determination crumble like sand
And most certainly love always dies

These things that I've learned in most recent of years
I knew but I didn't keep score
I've experienced them all many of times
But always picked myself up off the floor

For liars I tire
Hard work? Hmmm..who cares?
And love is a joke
I don't get

These things that I've learned in most recent of years
Are things that
I won't soon forget
