This is the song I'm singing lately! There are new groups rising up to challenge the "old guard" of mostly white men in power. Even tho your poem nicely details this in terms of women, it can also be about the amazing youth who are rising up this very day, calling for gun control. I love all the ways you describe women's value with powerful phrases (the mix of caring & yet being tough), but the last line is the kick in the butt (SO TRUE!!!) I think I mentioned to you about how hundreds of women are running for office in this year's elections here, women who never ran for office before, they've really had it with the way things keep getting more unacceptable!
