BeautyA Poem by MsMermaidDescription of beauty as more than what the eye sees. Rose photograph taken by my daughter, Katie in our back yard. Girl in Red Dress from Flickr.
Beauty I sit in darkness, my unseeing eyes lonely to know beauty
But none comes to the dark. The dark knows its duty. I bow my head, tears trickling down my cheeks. My heart cries out in pain for the beauty that it seeks. Somewhere in the darkness, the laughter of a child. I prick my ears to listen. My heart is beating wild. Then gently in my open hands, I feel a velvet touch. Fragrance reaches to my heart. This rapture is too much. And then I know completely what my eyes cannot translate... That beauty has a fragrance, inner image to create. Beauty has a velvet touch, and the sound of laughter too. Beauty is more than mere seeing. Seeing is only a view. © 2011 MsMermaid |
