Sleeping with Paul

Sleeping with Paul

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Sleeping with Paul

I traced his masculine form

with my photographic mind,

never to allow the rush of morning

to enter,

                  there.

Thank you Kelly and you are welcome.
This is amazing. So relatable, so cryptic yet so clear. The poem is universal. I wonder how he would react if he read this, but then his reaction might be very similar to yours, to mine, to everybody's.

Every love we ever have leaves a mark on our hearts and souls. I can close my eyes and remember my first love; I can even recall the scent that lingered in my nose for hours after our first night together. And you are spot on with this piece, Kelly. I just hope there is a former lover out there dreaming the same of me :) Well done!

I think I got the jest of that, thank you!
this reminds me of my first girlfriend and love of my life...what physical we had has never been tainted...
there are memories and dreams still...and weak kneed memories...and dizzying thoughts...and they stay in the past, but my mind goes there...and they are still fresh every day...and thoughts still make me feel weak.

Kelly, this is SO romantic in such an understated and gentle way. The tracing of his form with photographic mind...these impact lines seemingly flow out of YOUR mind very easily. I could never have written that line, I don't have the aptitude or skills. Reading your stuff is always such a treat, it is a constant stream of flowing poetic ideas. Keep writing and I keep reading, deal? take care...dan

... so true! Thank you for your review!
Very beautiful. Somehow it gave me a feeling about Paul Walker. May he rest in peace. I always compliment writers who can accomplish a lot with a few words or lines and that is exactly what you have done here. Great job. keep up the good work.
