You Are Here

You Are Here

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers
"

...a father speaks to his son

"

You Are Here

I am convinced

with unfaltering affirmation,

you are here

that some part of you

is still alive

and breathing,  quietly

that you come to me

in a cathedral of silence,

obliterating all  I perceive

[ that you sleep in an everlasting peace… ]

when I know,

when I know,

you are here...

you are  here.

- for Terry-

Kelly, Am I interpreting this correctly, that 'Terry' was but a child? All deaths of loved ones are tragic but for most of us we find the passing of a child the most painful with which to cope. Such a tender 'conversation' with the child, your write is achingly beautiful, serene and filled with whispered love. The music certainly fits, it too is lovely. I'm saving this in my library favorites. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. take care...dan

Thank you, Kelly. This so meaningful and moving to read. It affirms my own feelings so close and with a depth of words that I am choked and yet fulfilled by the message.

Bless you, Kelly, from Ole & me. x
i have this feeling quite often about a few people who were very close to me, who are gone way too soon...

they will never be gone for me...that memory holds them tight.

This is just so beautiful Kelly! I am sure your friend will find comfort in your words. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family. And yes, I too believe that somehow they stay with us, nestled in the chambers of our heart.

Your words must surely penetrate the layers of life and death and reach Terry!! Absolutely love 'the cathedral of silence', the image in my mind encompasses speaks such volumes of thought!! A very deep and emotional poem that really got to me, alf

And so the Angels would look upon a bond of father & son, there tears of joy streaking across vast atmospheres, beholding to the same bond that binds them, again and again, without end.
