Past Carolina

Past Carolina

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Past Carolina

I am fresh from a shower,

wrapped abundantly

in you

you whisper

that I smell of spring,

of falling rain

my hair cascades down,

your fingers traverse

the smooth topography of skin

mapping through southern states

like an atlas…

venturing to stay,

past Carolina.

I don't believe we have ever met...but I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
True art is sometimes in the words not spoken but alluded to. thanks, becoming a fan!

I feel flattered...thank you, Terry!
You invite us all into such a tender, sensual moment; this world of your warmth, so smooth and soft. What a beautiful journey across every curve of your landscape. xo

Such a lovely descriptive, Eros...thank you!
Mmmmmm.....so dreamy and sensual, Kelly. I do believe this is one you wrote a while ago because I remember some of the lines. Too good to forget! "venturing to stay, past Carolina." :) Love it. Lydi**

Gosh, Kelly!

Through hills, valleys, curves and bends, the mysteries of beautiful feminine terrain pleases the masculine mind's-eye, like a sensual journey across lovers' soaring dreams … each dip and swell highlighted by the lushness of amazingly suggestive wonder emanating from the satin smoothness of your pic … goodness-ME!

How lucky for me I know just where Carolina is! ; )

From the imagery of verse one, through the gentle season of verse two, down deep into lusty southern regions … the destination makes the drive so enthrallingly worth the trip.

When you compose such breathless Free Verse, the atmosphere takes on a penetrating sunshine glow … for it all, I thank you most warmly, beautiful Kelly! ⁓ Richard

...it's my favorite theme, I must admit! ...thank you!
'.. like an atlas… venturing to stay, ... past Carolina.'

Not only cleverly conceived but beautifully laid.. Think you've just altered the map.. added a rise of mood on the horizon and then, settled the flow of the stream. Tis such a finely worded poem.. brief, graphic, delightful and more than more when read a second and third time.
